Travel Guard® North America Celebrates the Kinder Side of Travel with World's Unluckiest Traveler® 2: The Rescue
Contest to recognize the upside to the downside of travel by rewarding those who share random acts of kindness
STEVENS POINT, Wis., May 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The World's Unluckiest Traveler® is back. In 2010, after a year of collecting unlucky travel stories from worldwide travelers, Travel Guard North America (www.travelguard.com) crowned the "World's Unluckiest Traveler" and winner of a $10,000 dream vacation. Now, it only takes one good deed to turn a travel nightmare around for a chance at a $10,000 vacation with Travel Guard's "World's Unluckiest Traveler 2: The Rescue" contest, launching Memorial Day.
With the launch of World's Unluckiest Traveler 2: The Rescue on May 30, the public can visit www.travelguard.com to share how one kind person saved their day while traveling. In the business of helping correct travel mishaps, Travel Guard knows first-hand how one good deed can turn a travel nightmare into a dream come true. So whether someone came to the rescue in an emergency, a flight attendant personally carried a passenger's bag, or a traveler gave up their airline seat to a fellow passenger, Travel Guard wants to hear about these random acts of kindness. The story that wins as voted by the public will be awarded a $10,000 "Hero's Vacation."
"Travel mishaps, major or minor, are frustrating for everyone, and we're inspired by the stories we already hear every day about good deeds of other travelers turning things around," said Carol Mueller, Vice President of Travel Guard North America. "We're looking forward to spotlighting these random acts of kindness and hope they encourage others to spread great stories of traveling."
Entries will be accepted through Labor Day, September 5. On September 27, World Tourism Day, Travel Guard will announce the ten best stories, as chosen by a panel of travel experts. Throughout the month of October, the public will vote for the ultimate act of kindness. The winning "Hero," as voted by North America, will be awarded a $10,000 "Hero's Vacation." The person who nominated the winning story will win airfare for two anywhere in the U.S.
Travel Guard is also encouraging the public to spread the love by sharing their favorite stories of travel good deeds via Facebook, Twitter and other social networks. For more information on the contest and a full set of rules and regulations, visit www.TravelGuard.com.
