TravelCar Partners With Carbonfund.org To Help Travelers Combat Climate Change

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- TravelCar.com, the global innovator in airport parking and carsharing for travelers, announced today it has launched TRAVELCARbon, a program in partnership with Carbonfund.org Foundation, a non-profit organization leading the fight against global warming and climate change, that will allow for travelers to voluntarily offset their carbon emissions from their recent flight or car rental.  

TravelCar set a goal of offsetting at least 1 million pounds of CO2 per year, which is the equivalent to 540 round trip flights from LAX to JFK.  To jumpstart its program, TravelCar has committed to offsetting the estimated annual footprint of its ten US employees, 52,920 pounds each, bringing its total at kickoff to more than 500,000 pounds.

"Whether its driving to the airport, flying to your destination, or renting a car upon your arrival, these small things add up to one big problem," says Ahmed Mhiri, CEO of TravelCar.  "But we can all do our part to help combat climate change with carbon offsets."

When TravelCar users offset carbon emission with a small donation, they can choose which Carbonfund.org Program they would like to contribute to: energy efficiency, forestry or renewable energy programs.
