Designed to help travelers discover destinations that offer great year-over-year accommodation value, the report also highlights the most affordable months to stay at hotels in popular travel destinations worldwide.

(Hotel prices based on TripAdvisor hotel rates sourced from more than 200 websites delivering the most recent and lowest hotel prices)

U.S.: While the most affordable month to stay in a hotel in the U.S. was in January ($186), May ($200), June ($210), and September ($204) are the best months to visit, boasting an optimal combination of price and temperature.
Spain: The least expensive hotel rates in Spain were in January ($124), however, travelers are able enjoy low prices and better weather in March ($154), April ($161) and November ($150).
Caribbean: Travelers can find the best prices on hotels in the Caribbean from August through October, with nightly rates averaging as low as $301. Since it is hurricane season, travelers need to watch the weather and consider purchasing travel insurance.
Brazil: While the weather there is always warm, hotel rates in Brazil are coolest during the months of March ($137), April ($135) and May ($133).
Mexico: With warm temperatures year-round, travelers can seek out the lowest hotel prices in Mexico between September and November, at an average of $318 per night or less.
U.K.: Though the least expensive hotels in the U.K. were in January ($170) and February ($181), U.S. travelers can also enjoy affordable rates and mild temperatures in May ($222), August ($228) and October ($226).
Japan: January ($163) was the least expensive month to book a hotel in Japan, however, travelers will find April ($221), May ($205), and June ($199) offer the best combination of warm temperatures and low rates. Travelers vacationing in June should pack an umbrella, which is in the midst of Japan's rainy season.
Italy: Travelers can enjoy the largest hotel savings in Italy during the winter months, but will want to travel during April ($230), October ($258), or November ($185) for the best mix of price and weather.
Thailand: Boasting consistently high temperatures, travelers can go low on hotel prices during Thailand's shoulder season in April ($144), May ($135), and June ($145).
India: Featuring hot temperatures all year, travelers willing to brave the heat can find the least expensive hotels in India April through June, with nightly rates below $110.
