Mr. Wachtel has practiced employment law in Washington, D.C. since 1993. Washingtonian Magazine named Mr. Wachtel among the top lawyers in Washington in every survey between 2004 and 2013. He has also been listed consistently in Best Lawyers® and Super Lawyers.®
Mr. Wachtel's work includes trial court and administrative litigation, arbitration, and mediation. He has successfully represented employees with claims of race, sex, age, and disability discrimination, sexual harassment, violation of civil service rights, interference with FMLA rights, and retaliation on the basis of whistleblower activity in the nuclear, aviation, defense, and finance industries.
Mr. Wachtel is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Wolters-Kluwer, CCH Employment Law Daily. He frequently writes and speaks on topics at the intersection between employment law and electronic privacy. He is also active in the Civil Pro Bono Panel of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, where he has been appointed to represent parties in civil litigation and mediation.
