PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla., July 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Troon Golf, the world's largest golf management company, has applauded the 2012 BallenIsles Junior Cup which saw 36 young, rising stars of golf compete this past weekend in a Ryder Cup format tournament on the Club's historic championship East Course.

The invitation-only tournament showcased golf's next generation and included 2011 Platinum Tour Player of the Year, Zachary Bariso; 2011 Palm Beach Post Player of the Year, Conor Richardson; 2012 Florida Junior Tour Event winner, Zachary Smith; 2011 Scripps Treasure Coast Newspaper Golfer of the Year, Lucy Robson; 2012 Florida Junior Tour winner, Radi Sauro; and Back to Back South Florida LPGA Player of the Year, Emily Faulkner.

A pairings party determined "East" and "West" teams and the West team took a 6-3 lead after day 1 of matches but on the final day of play the East was able to take the lead, winning the tournament 14½ - 12½ to capture the 2012 BallenIsles Junior Cup.
A demo day with Cleveland Golf and Srixon also presented the juniors with an opportunity to try the latest in drivers and other equipment. Participants also received a golf bag, shirts, hats, and golf balls for the event, all sponsored by Cleveland Golf. A new sponsor this year, Scholarship For Athletes, a premier consulting company for student-athletes and their families, provided guidance to the junior golfers on how to obtain golf scholarships.
