Truck Stop Health Care Plans to Start DOT Physicals for CDL Drivers at Truck Stops in all States by FMCSA Certified Medical Examiners
To save time for CDL Highway Drivers, FMCSA Certified Medical Examiners will be sub-contracted to perform DOT physicals at truck stops in all states and even transmit their medical certificate to DMV offices where permitted.
NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla., Sept. 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Truck Stop Health Care LLC is formed by husband/wife team of Physicians, Gunwant S. Dhaliwal, MD a Board Certified Internist and FMCSA Certified Medical Examiner in practice over 20 years and Tejinder Dhaliwal, MD a Board Certified Anesthesiologist in practice over 15 years. This venture is for the benefit of Highway CDL drivers for their DOT physicals that is required every 2 years.
Dr. Dhaliwal plans to manage the whole network with the help of industry professionals and regional coordinators to arrange DOT physicals through Cloud Based DOT specific software on iPADs. The drivers or their employer can schedule these physicals on the driver's route and the driver will get his medical certificate printed on-site. Where permitted, medical certificates are transmitted to the DMV offices.
Truck Stop Health Care is working to lease space from Truck Stop Owners across USA for the days these DOT physicals are performed. Besides monthly revenue, truck stop owners will market this service to get more traffic and new business. TS Health Care plans to have their own Liability Insurance.
Effective 21st May 2014, the medical examiners take test and get certified to perform DOT physicals. TS Health Care is sub-contracting with local Nurse Practitioners / MD / DO / Chiropractors to work part time or full time in this venture. They are licensed in their state and proficient in performing DOT physicals. The medical examiners to accomplish on an average of 30 such Physicals a day with the help of 2 assistants. All CDL drivers with medical issues are referred to their Primary Care Physicians or other providers in the area. The medical examiners will not treat such patients on-site.
CDL Drivers need DOT physical every 2 years for public and their own safety. There are specific guidelines that FMCSA certified medical examiners need to follow and convey all the denials to FMCSA.
