The business model of Truck Stop Health Care, also called TS Health Care or TSHC, is quite different from all other companies that tried to provide same services in the past. Dr. Dhaliwal states the company is offering only DOT Physicals to healthy or otherwise CDL drivers with stabilized medical conditions. All others will be referred to their Primary Care Physicians.
The key to success is to offer DOT physical service at multiple locations across all states on major highways so the drivers never have to take time off to get the medical certificate that is required every 2 years, for driver and public safety. TSHC plans to open 500 locations in 6 months and 1,500 in 24 months. The owner, Tejinder Dhaliwal, MD states that in third year, 300 locations will be converted to Urgent Care / Occupational Clinics to provide much needed medical emergency care to highway community and truck stop employees.
Gunwant Dhaliwal, MD working as CEO, plans to manage the whole network with the help of recently subcontracted Vice President Operations and other industry professionals. The drivers or their employer can schedule these physicals on the driver's route and the driver will get his medical certificate printed on-site. Where permitted, medical certificate is transmitted to the DMV offices.
TS Health Care is sub-contracting with local ARNP/MD/DO/ Chiropractors to work part time or full time in this venture. They need to be licensed in their state and Certified by FMCSA. Medical Examiner's registration number is printed on the DOT medical card and driver's information is entered in to the DOT database at FMCSA. More information available at

The DOT medical certificate is valid for 2 years if there are no medical conditions. DOT physical costs $100 that includes in-office urine test. It takes 15 to 20 minutes to perform the exam. Medical certificate could be denied due to any conditions that are listed on the website
TSHC is in discussions with independent truck stop owners as well as Love's and Sapp Bros. Travel Centers to participate in this service. The truck stop owner can earn $12,000 minimum to $60,000 in busy truck stops annually in just leasing 100 sq. ft. space and earn extra income from the traffic. TS Health Care carries its own General Liability Coverage for $1mil/$3mil and Providers have their Professional liability.
TS Health Care has its logo that Truck stop owners can display on their Highway signs and light it up with flashing Yellow to indicate the days DOT physicals are being performed at the location.
