True Temper® and ToolBank® USA Partner to Equip More Volunteers from Coast to Coast Tool donations help ToolBank USA revitalize local communities
ATLANTA, Feb. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- ToolBank USA and Ames True Temper® announced today a partnership which will provide over $145,000 in True Temper® branded tools to ongoing ToolBank community efforts. The tools will be used by volunteers and charitable organizations for projects, both large and small, including building and renovation of community playgrounds, churches and community park updates, to name a few.
The relationship began in 2012 with an initial donation of True Temper tools to the Baltimore Community ToolBank. This latest support will help stock two new ToolBanks in Portland, Ore., and Houston, Texas, as well as a new ToolBank Disaster Services mobile unit, which will deploy in late 2013 to support disaster-stricken communities.
Ames True Temper President, Les Ireland, became a founding board member of the Baltimore Community ToolBank in 2010. Ireland recently made the move from the Baltimore board to the ToolBank USA Board of Directors.
"True Temper tools, known for power, strength, quality and durability, are the perfect fit to help provide charitable organizations with tools that will directly impact volunteer efforts," said Mark Brodbeck, chief executive officer of ToolBank USA. "This generous donation of tools will advance missions, increase impact and reduce costs for local charities."
True Temper is providing an arsenal of branded tools, including long-handled tools like shovels and spades, striking tools like axes and sledgehammers, wheelbarrows, hand tools and many other tool types. With this allotment of product, ToolBank USA will be able to equip volunteer groups of all sizes in community service in and around Houston, Portland and nationwide when disaster strikes.
