TrueCar Racing Rally America Driver, Verena Mei, at the First Hawaiian International Auto Show

SANTA MONICA, Calif., March 29, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- TrueCar Racing Rally America Driver and Pearl City native, Verena Mei, will make an appearance at the First Hawaiian International Auto show this weekend.  Mei will be signing her official hero cards and giving away Tokidoki stickers at the Ford booth on Saturday, March 31 from 1-3 pm.

Mei is one of six female race car drivers in the TrueCar Racing "Women Empowered" Initiative.  She signed a 2-year deal with TrueCar to compete in the Rally America series with the Team O'Neil Rally School, Star Girl Racing, and support from Tokidoki.  She and her co-driver Leanne Junnila of Calgary make up the only female national team in the Rally America series, competing in the #335 TrueCar Ford Fiesta.

Mei was introduced to motorsports during her work as a poster model for Toyo Tires and grew a passion for racing.  She sent herself to stunt and racing schools to pursue her dream of racing.  Verena was the first female to compete in the Formula Drift series, and became the top female drifter in the US.  She then moved on to the Time Attack Series, where she became the first female to win a championship in the series. Now, Mei is pursuing her ultimate goal of rally racing and her team is leading the Rally America B-Spec National Championship.
