RIVERVIEW, Mich., June 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- What's a party without pizza? That's a question they'll be answering at today's Grand Opening of the new Riverview Tubby's Grilled Subs shop where Tubby's line of pizzas will also make its public debut.
Tubby's Pizza Company products feature a Philly Cheesesteak pizza that matches the ingredients of its popular Philly Cheesesteak Sub, Tubby's Smokin' BBQ Chicken pizza, and an Everything Pizza.
"We've wanted to have a pizza offering for some time but we wanted to make sure we got it right," says Tubby's CEO Robert Paganes. "We think we're ready now with a full line of mouth watering pizzas that will complement our sub sandwiches and give our franchisees a broader lineup of choices for their customers."
Paganes said that Tubby's Riverview corporate store is the "perfect place" to roll out the new pizza line before pizza is offered at select Tubby's franchise locations throughout Southeast Michigan. "This is why we're opening this corporate store in the first place," said Paganes, "to get us closer to our retail customers and test new products and processes with real people. We're confident our pizzas are going to be an immediate hit but our experience here in Riverview will give us real answers and allow us to make any necessary tweaks before we offer our pizza products to our franchisees system-wide."
In addition to a menu of nine specialty pizzas, Tubby's will offer a build-your-own option. Pizzas will be available in a variety of sizes from single slices to Xtra large and party size and will range in price from $1.75 for a single slice to $39 for a party size specialty pizza. Two slices and a soft drink will be offered at $4.72 which, with sales tax, makes it a flat $5 out the door price.
Pizza Slices will be available for drive-thru customers at Tubby's shops with drive-thru windows, making Tubby's one of the very few fast casual restaurants to offer slices via drive thru windows.
"We're very excited about this new pizza line. It will appeal to individual walk-in or drive-thru customers but will also broaden our catering options and help us to take care of just about any party needs with a more complete product line," said Bill Kiryakoza, executive vice president at Tubby's. "It will make Tubby's more of a 'go to' place than ever for quality casual foods."
