Twilio For KWC provides full access to Twilio's communications API platform, and the service features the underlying connectivity with Japanese domestic carriers provided by KWC. Developers and enterprises in Japan can now have access to tools that allow them to build communication apps connecting small businesses; highly scalable, Web-based call centers; phone-based lead tracking solutions; business process management workflows or any other communications-enabled solution they can imagine.

KDDI Web Communications Inc. started a shared hosting service in 1997, and became a subsidiary of KDDI Corporation in October 2007. KWC provides various services such as hosting services CPI, Cloud Core online website creator Jimdo, and now a communications API platform, Twilio For KWC.

"Twilio is delighted to be working with KWC to reach developers in the Japanese market," said Jeff Lawson, co-founder and CEO of Twilio. "KDDI is a world class telecommunications company, and we share the same optimism and outlook for the future of communications. We are thrilled that KWC will be distributing our API to their thousands of developer and enterprise customers--we can't wait to see what they build."

"Twilio has a fantastic platform that allows developers and enterprises to  build the future of communications," said Noriyuke Koide, general manager for the Twilio division at KWC. "We are thrilled to extend Twilio's API to our customers through our new Twilio For KWC offering."

New registrations for boundio, KWC's previous communications API, were closed April 16, 2013. KWC will phase out boundio and transition existing customers to the Twilio platform.
