CHARLOTTE, N.C., May 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The U-Haul Top 10 U.S. Destination Cities for 2016 commences with Charlotte, which rises four spots from its previous destination ranking to claim the No. 10 spot.
Charlotte witnessed an 8.9 percent increase in arrivals over 2015 to become one of the busiest U.S. cities for incoming U-Haul trucks.
U-Haul Destination Cities are ranked according to the total number of arriving one-way U-Haul truck rentals to a city in the past calendar year. Destination Cities do not account for departing traffic and thus do not necessarily reflect growth like U-Haul Growth Cities. Destination Cities reflect the volume and regularity of do-it-yourself movers coming into a community.
"The word is out: Charlotte is a great place to live, work, and play," Charlotte Mayor Jennifer Roberts said. "Charlotte will continue to be a winning city because of our good jobs, great weather, and our commitment to being a welcoming and inclusive city."
U-Haul has eight Company-owned stores and 34 independent neighborhood dealers in the city limits, and serves Greater Charlotte via 14 stores and 160 dealers. U-Haul has been a corporate citizen in Charlotte since the 1970s. Find U-Haul truck and trailer sharing locations in Charlotte at uhaul.com/locations.
