TYLER and WHITEHOUSE, Texas, Sept. 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- U-Haul is pleased to now be serving do-it-yourself movers and self-storage customers at two former Corner Cupboard Mini Storage facilities in Smith County.
U-Haul Moving & Storage of Rose City at 411 N. Northwest Loop 323 in Tyler and U-Haul Storage at West Main Street 10370 & 10416 FM 346 E. in Whitehouse opened in June. The Tyler location is offering truck and trailer rentals, moving supplies, boxes and more. Both locations offer self-storage.
"The Rose City facility is on the main route in Tyler," U-Haul Company of East Dallas president Jesus Terrazas said. "There are a lot of people moving to and from this area. We've had a huge demand for a U-Haul-owned and -operated facility. We've been looking for a suitable building for 10 years."
The Tyler location offers 336 drive-up self-storage units with climate-control options. U-Haul customers have access to an additional 126 units at the Whitehouse location.

U-Haul Storage at West Main Street is being operated remotely by the Tyler store and offers 24-hour accessibility for customer convenience.
The recent acquisition of the Tyler and Whitehouse facilities was driven by U-Haul Company's Corporate Sustainability initiatives: U-Haul® supports infill developments to help local communities lower their carbon footprint. Our adaptive reuse of existing buildings reduces the amount of energy and resources required for new-construction materials and helps cities reduce their unwanted inventory of unused buildings.
"By reusing facilities, we are really able to make a difference in our communities," Terrazas said. "When you demolish buildings, it negatively impacts the environment and the people living nearby. Adaptive reuse is a big win for everyone."
U-Haul is a proud sponsor of the 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor Day. The Company is honoring Pearl Harbor survivors and World War II veterans by supporting the events in Oahu commemorating the Dec. 7, 1941 attack. Founded by a WWII Navy veteran and his wife, U-Haul makes veterans a focus of its charitable works and has been recognized repeatedly as one of the top veteran-friendly U.S. employers. Any Pearl Harbor survivors affiliated with U-Haul Team Members or neighborhood dealers are encouraged to contact U-Haul at [email protected].
