U-Recover Brings Windows 7 File Recovery Capability To Windows 10

MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- U-Tools Software LLC today announced the release of U-Recover^® for Microsoft^® Windows^® 10. U-Recover brings back many of the Windows 7 file recovery and protection features that were removed from Windows 10. It integrates with Windows Explorer to let users create and configure Previous File Versions (Shadow Copies) in the same way that they did on Windows 7.

"I created U-Recover because I had missed the file protection features that were in Windows 7," explained Alan Klietz, the owner of U-Tools Software. "Windows 7 had a perfectly good way to recover deleted files called Previous File Versions. In Windows 10 it was replaced with something called File History, which many people do not like. Several other useful data recovery features were taken out, such as the ability to automatically create system restore points or volume snapshots. I decided to bring it all back."

U-Recover also adds extra file recovery features that go beyond Windows 7 including the following:

Expose a volume snapshot or restore point as a disk letter for easy browsing or searching.
Access a private file from within a volume snapshot and view it using administrator rights (not possible on Windows 7).
Access files stored in snapshots of old System Backup Images.

U-Recover Professional Edition adds additional support for the Enterprise, including unattended operation, scheduled operation, e-mail alerts, and support of Group Policy.
