UL Warns of Electric Signs With Unauthorized UL Marks
NORTHBROOK, Ill., Jan. 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is notifying sign installers and Authorities Having Jurisdiction that electric signs manufactured by Speedy Service Sign, British Columbia, Canada bear an unauthorized UL Mark. These electric signs have not been evaluated by UL to the appropriate standards for safety for the United States and Canada and are not authorized to bear the UL Mark. It is unknown if the electric signs comply with the United States or Canadian safety requirements.
