COLLEGE PARK, Md., April 12, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- University of Maryland students, faculty and the public will hear the secrets of leading a team to success from NFL Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh and Rear Adm. Thomas Lynch (retired), commander of the Navy Battle Group in Operation Desert Shield. The talk will be hosted by the Ed Snider Center for Enterprise and Markets at the Robert H. Smith School of Business on Wednesday, April 20 at 5 p.m. at Ritchie Coliseum on the university's College Park campus.
Professor Rajshree Agarwal, director of the Snider Center, will moderate the discussion, which will cover topics such as being a team member, team identity and team leadership. Harbaugh and Lynch will also discuss the potential tradeoffs between purpose and profit. "The guests will share their views on principled enterprise — the notion that business can create prosperity and impact the wellbeing of individuals and society in service, sports and business," Agarwal says.
This free event is open to the public and part of the NewDay Enterprise and Leadership Forum, created by the Snider Center in collaboration with NewDay USA, a mortgage lender for veterans. The series aims to introduce students to individuals who have distinguished themselves in sports, service and business and are motivated to share their perspectives on the opportunities, challenges and rewards of leadership.
