UNH-IOL Uses TraceSpan's D-CABLE Xpert™ for IPv6 Validation of DOCSIS 3.0 eRouters

TraceSpan Communications, a leader in broadband analysis and monitoring solutions, announced today the expansion of the company's partnership with the UNH-IOL to IPv6 validation of DOCSIS 3.0 eRouters. In the frame of this partnership the UNH-IOL will use TraceSpan's D-CABLE Xpert™ multi-layer analyzer as part of their IPv6 test bench solutions.

D-CABLE Xpert is a powerful protocol analyzer which provides full visibility into the DOCSIS network and equipment, including detailed network topology and complete and accurate analysis for DOCSIS product performance, standard compliance and interoperability. D-CABLE Xpert captures and analyzes the signals without using any DOCSIS chipset and has no effect on the data transfer between the CMTS and the CMs. With its unique multi-layer probing capability, it provides comprehensive DOCSIS 3.0 PHY and MAC layer analysis as well as embeded analysis of upper layer protocols, including Ethernet, IPv4, IPv6, TCP, UDP, IGMP, DHCP, HTTP and various others.

The UNH-IOL is an independent provider of broad-based testing and standards conformance services for the networking industry. The partnership between UNH-IOL and TraceSpan, first announced in February last year, was initially focused on building a world class GPON test environment using TraceSpan's GPON Xpert analyzer and OLT emulator. GPON Xpert has since then been used extensively by UNH-IOL and its customers and has proved to add significant value in the testing proccess.
