United Airlines to Locate Great Lakes Regional Sales Office in New Greater Cleveland Partnership Office Building
CLEVELAND, Nov. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Greater Cleveland Partnership (GCP) announced today that United Airlines will enter into a lease to locate its Great Lakes regional sales office in the GCP's new PlayhouseSquare office building at 1240 Huron Road.
"This agreement underscores the strong partnership between the Greater Cleveland Partnership and United" said GCP President and CEO Joe Roman. "United Airlines and the Cleveland hub are critical to this region's business attraction, expansion and retention efforts. Having United in our building will complement our economic development agenda and help us leverage the region's $6.9 billion of infrastructure projects currently under way."
The GCP relocated to PlayhouseSquare after Rock Ohio Caesars LLC announced that it would utilize the GCP's office space in the Higbee Building for a significant portion of the first phase of the Horseshoe Casino Cleveland. The new GCP building has five floors with more than 73,000 square feet of space and state-of-the-art conference facilities. The GCP and its small business partner, the Council of Smaller of Enterprises (COSE), occupy 53,000 square feet on 3 1/2 floors. The organization is seeking complementary subtenants for the remainder of the building.
"We're pleased to have our Great Lakes regional sales office located in the Greater Cleveland Partnership's new building," said Evan Koppel, United's regional sales director. "We appreciate the Cleveland business community's support of our airline hub, and we want to continue to strengthen this relationship. Being located in the GCP building will help us accomplish that goal."
Maintaining the United hub at Hopkins International Airport (CLE) is a key GCP strategic priority. CLE has more than 70 direct flight destinations, nearly 250 daily departures and a $4 billion economic impact in the community.
