HARRISBURG, Pa., Nov. 2, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- United Concordia, one of the nation's largest dental insurers and administrator of the TRICARE Dental Program (TDP), is proud to announce it is supporting Operation Appreciation, an initiative of Blue Star Families (a military outreach organization). The purpose of Operation Appreciation is to sign holiday cards for military service members deployed overseas.
Employees throughout the company donated holiday cards to support the initiative. Staff also participated in departmental meetings during which they signed the cards and wrote personal letters to the service members.
"United Concordia staff members are always eager to support the military community in any way possible," says Sharon Duke, director of Marketing and Outreach, DoD Programs. "Operation Appreciation was a great way for us to do something as a company and as individuals to make a difference in the lives of deployed service members during the holiday season."
In November, more than 1,500 signed cards will be sent overseas to ensure they are received by the holidays.
