United States University Announces Tuition Reduction Up to 38%
Teaching Credential Programs Now Lowest in California, Costs Also Reduced For Undergraduate Courses
NATIONAL CITY, Calif., July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- United States University (USU) has announced an immediate cut in tuition for its teaching credential programs and all undergraduate courses. The tuition for teaching credential courses is being cut by 38% and it's a 37% cut for undergraduate courses. The tuition reduction makes USU's teaching credential programs the least expensive of its kind in California.
"The decision was made to make higher education more affordable and accessible to our target population," said Dr. Yoram Neumman, the president and chief executive officer of United States University. "Public universities in California have increased fees, cut classes, and are admitting fewer students. As a private institution serving the needs of less affluent students, we feel compelled to offer quality education to our students while substantially reducing the tuition. Otherwise, a significant group of deserving students will be deprived from realizing their dream."
United States University has reduced tuition for undergraduate courses from $400 a credit or $1,200 for a three credit class to $250 a credit or $750 for a three credit class. In addition, for USU's single and multiple subject teaching credential program, tuition has been reduced from $450 a credit or $1,350 for a three credit class to $275 a credit or $825 for a three credit class.
"We felt it was important to make a bold cut in the teacher credential tuition due to the pressing need to educate new teachers in California," said Tom Finaly, the chief operating officer of United States University. USU's single and multiple subject credentials are accredited by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC).
