Univ. of Michigan Health System statement on Supreme Court health care reform ruling
ANN ARBOR, Mich., June 28, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- This ruling will ensure that more Americans will have health insurance and access to timely care – while reducing the burden of uncompensated care that we and other hospitals face. We are committed to continuing to deliver high-quality care while containing costs, and welcome the chance to do so for increasing numbers of people.
We will continue our participation in the Pioneer Accountable Care Organization program, and hope that more hospitals, physician groups and other providers will adopt this model of care -- which is based on a successful Medicare demonstration program we took part in that shows that cost containment and quality of care can go hand in hand.
