University of Michigan Medical Center Installs Healing Portals™

RAD Technology Medical Systems' Innovative Artwork for Radiotherapy Doors

AVENTURA, Fla., Nov. 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- RAD Technology Medical Systems announced today that they have installed Healing Portals™ at the University of Michigan Cancer Center in Ann Arbor, after installing four at UCSD. The University of Michigan Cancer Center first worked with RAD in 2013 when they installed a RAD PRO vault and clinic next to their existing facility to treat patients during the upgrading of the equipment in their existing vaults.

Promote serenity and a healing environment by theming your therapy room door with an image that helps patients escape while entering your treatment room. RAD can provide a variety of scenes including those from your local region. Doors can be changed seasonally or customized with your own message.

"The RAD PRO Vault and clinic has been a wonderful addition to our facility," said Kathy Lash, Director of Operations at the University of Michigan for Radiation Oncology. Healing Portals™ are artwork for vault doors. Photographic images are installed, turning the radiotherapy treatment room doors into something beautiful or interesting to look at. RAD has worked constructing radiotherapy vaults for years and always thought something needed to be done to the large cumbersome vault doors. This led to the creation of Healing Portals™.

The first Healing Portals™ were installed at the University of California San Diego. Two Healing Portals™ were installed in the RAD PRO vault that is located at the Moores Cancer Center and the other two were installed in the radiotherapy suite located across the street.
