Upcoming TEDx Talk on "The Uncertainty of the Information Economy & Its Impact on Careers," by Visionary Elatia Abate
LOS ANGELES, May 31, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The changing economy is impacting careers, whether we realize it or not. In the United States alone, machines and other forms of technology will replace 47% of the jobs that exist today. Since 2010, half of the new jobs created in Europe are contract or freelance positions. Three billion more people will have access to the Internet and the entrepreneurial opportunities it provides in the next five to seven years.
Elatia Abate says, "The disruption that is happening in the work world is massive. It will impact all of our careers and it is one of the most exciting things to happen in our lifetimes. We've simply got to be prepared."
Ms. Abate is getting this important message out worldwide and helping college students, executives and entrepreneurs create fulfilling professional lives. In fact, she says, "much of the preparation is about creating a prototype for your career." She is teaching a class at Stanford's University's School of Continuing Studies this summer, called "Prototype Your Future."
Ms. Abate shares a new philosophy of career design that breaks from the traditional linear approach, showing you how to channel your talents, resources and values to create work that is fulfilling and engaging.
Elatia will be giving a TEDx talk on "Pioneering the Future of Work" on June 16, 2017. Abate will address the issue of what it takes to create thrilling and fulfilling professional lives amidst profound technological disruption and rising global uncertainty. Abate says, "I will be sharing stories from this new frontier, including how to harness the transformative potential of the unknown."
Michael Lindenmayer, principal for the TEDxOgden group says, "I am thrilled to have Elatia on our stage. She has a powerful, bright and engaging vision of the future of work. At TEDx we are all about ideas worth spreading and Elatia possesses a unique talent to both spark fresh ideas and motive others to pursue their dreams."
Elatia says, "Although I started my work as an entrepreneur helping others create fulfilling careers, the questions I'm answering have shifted from building fulfilling professional lives to a more important one how do we empower success in the uncertain economy."
