Upstart Media Platform Sqor, Launches Digital Campaign To Support Fight Against CTE In Association With Brain Injury Awareness Month
Content Series to Feature Inside Look at Former All-Pro Linebacker Lance Briggs' Daily Approach of Utilizing Mental Strength To Battle Initial Signs of CTE
SAN FRANCISCO, March 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Sqor, Inc., a digital platform enabling athletes, teams and fans to engage one another on a deeper, more personal level, announced today the premiere of its first-ever original production, "Lance Briggs: Time of My Life." The four-part series gives fans an inside look at the life of the 12-year professional football veteran and seven-time Pro Bowl linebacker, as he battles the early stages of living with CTE symptoms by taking a targeted mental approach to dilute current and future brain ailments. The trailer for the program will be released on March 13th on sqor.com/timeofmylife with three additional episodes launching over the next several months.
To support the series, Sqor will hold an exclusive roundtable discussion featuring Briggs, Hall of Fame quarterback, Brett Favre, and Dr. Jake VanLandingham, Founder and President of Prevacus, Inc., a drug development company for concussion treatment. The roundtable will take place in conjunction with Brain Injury Awareness Day on March 22nd, at the Sqor Media Center, housed at the Traction Sports Performance Center in Baton Rouge, LA. Sqor will also produce limited edition merchandise with a portion of proceeds donated to support brain injury research.
"I'm busier than I've ever been. As I balance my life's activities, I've become quite the time management expert," said Briggs. "More importantly, however, 'Time' takes on a much deeper meaning as I work hard to keep my mind active to slow the effects of CTE."
"Lance Briggs: Time of My Life" is the first original production from Sqor's content programming team. The series will be hosted on the Sqor app (available on iOS and Android) and featured on a redesigned website. Sqor is in production on a full slate of long- and short-form programs, all of which include deep fan interaction and engagement.
"Sqor believes in the power of the emotions created inside sports and is dedicate to telling important stories that bring athletes, teams and fans closer together," said Sqor CEO, Brian Wilhite. "All of our programs, like Lance's, will be not only deeply authentic to the subject matter, but also feature a multi-dimensional experience that includes live events, custom merchandise and, most importantly, fan engagement."
