US Airways Express Flight Attendants Reach Tentative Agreement
WASHINGTON, May 25, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Just days after authorizing a strike by an overwhelming majority, Air Wisconsin Flight Attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), today announced a tentative agreement with management. The agreement, reached with the assistance of the National Mediation Board (NMB), would cover the over 300 Flight Attendants at the carrier. Air Wisconsin, the largest privately held regional airline in the United States, operates as a US Airways Express carrier.
"The contributions of Flight Attendants to the overall success of our carrier must be recognized. We worked tirelessly to ensure this agreement reflects their priorities," said Brenda Barrall , AFA Air Wisconsin President. "Throughout negotiations, Air Wisconsin Flight Attendants have sent a loud and clear message to management that a mutually beneficial agreement must reflect our role as first responders and secure improvements on several key issues."
Terms of the agreement will be submitted to AFA leadership at Air Wisconsin and, if approved, will be sent to the membership for ratification. Full details of the tentative agreement will not be made public until they are presented to the membership.
Air Wisconsin operates nearly 500 daily regional flights as US Airways Express, serving 70 cities in the US and Canada. Air Wisconsin carries an estimated six million passengers per year with hubs in Philadelphia; Washington, DC; New York; Raleigh, NC; and Norfolk, VA.
