U.S. Army Recruiting Command Uses TechRadium's 'IRIS' to Power Messages for Soldiers, Families, Civilians
HOUSTON, Feb. 9 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- TechRadium, Inc., a leading electronic communications company, has contracted for its patented 'IRIS' technology – Immediate Response Information System – to be used by the U.S. Army Recruiting Command, which has implemented the system for its brigades and USAREC headquarters.
IRIS powers instant messaging for the eArmy Family Messaging System (eARMS), which delivers current information, updates and announcements to soldiers, their families, and to civilian employees of the Recruiting Command.
The new program was piloted in the Indianapolis battalion, then expanded to brigades and to USAREC headquarters, making the Recruiting Command the first full military command to utilize IRIS.
Soldiers are automatically registered in the notification system as each brigade goes online, then each soldier enters his or her family contact information and keeps that data updated.
The system is used for announcements, meeting notices, safety messages, changes of status and work policies, and family and community information. A commander can record information as voice or text and within seconds reach the entire command family by telephone or e-mail messaging.
Shawna Jones, wife of an officer in the Indianapolis Battalion, received one of the first messages and said: "It's definitely a boost. I know that I'm getting important messages, and I don't have to worry about missing something."
Ryan Rodkey, chairman and chief executive officer of TechRadium, Inc., headquartered in Sugar Land, Texas, a suburb of Houston, said his company is pleased to add the U.S. Army to its growing list of organizations using the IRIS technology, which includes numerous universities, colleges and schools; businesses, associations and utilities; and government offices at local, state and federal levels.
"We're extremely proud to serve the U.S. Army Recruiting Command," Rodkey said. "IRIS is designed to serve the widest variety of notification and response needs, and there's nothing more important to us than supplying the men and women of the United States Army with our very latest, fastest and most secure delivery system."
