WASHINGTON, April 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- LG Electronics and its affiliates applauded today's determination by the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), confirming LG's position that imports of bottom-mount refrigerators from Korea and Mexico have not caused material injury to the U.S. industry, primarily Whirlpool Corp.

The 5-0 ITC vote ends the baseless investigation launched a year ago by Whirlpool. LG respects fair trade and the rules of international trade and is gratified that its selling practices were found to be in accordance with these rules, said Chris Jung, president, home appliances, LG Electronics USA.
As a result of the ITC's "negative injury determination," the Department of Commerce will not issue an antidumping duty order and imports of bottom mount combination refrigerator-freezers will once again enter the United States without any dumping duties being imposed. "More importantly," Jung said, "consumers will be free to choose refrigerators based on quality and innovation, hallmarks of LG's industry-leading home appliances."
