U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke and U.S. Chief Technology Officer Aneesh Chopra to Address Opening and Closing Days of GridWeek 2010 Smart Grid Conference
WASHINGTON, Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- White House and Cabinet officials, leading energy associations and regulatory officials, and energy and environmental entrepreneurs will keynote some of the more than 40 Smart Grid programs at next week's GridWeek 2010 Conference in Washington, D.C., Oct. 18-21.
U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke will headline the opening day of GridWeek with a keynote address before an international gathering of Smart Grid policy, regulatory, utility and technology executives. Mr. Aneesh Chopra, U.S. Chief Technology Officer, will deliver the closing address focused on the acceleration of Smart Grid next Thursday.
Among the more than 200 speakers presenting over the four-day conference, are other keynote and plenary session leaders including:
- Gerry Cauley, president and CEO of the North American Electric Reliability Corp. (NERC);
- The Honorable Jon Wellinghoff, chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC);
- Robin Chase, founder and CEO of Meadow Networks, founder and CEO of GoLoco and co-founder of Zipcar;
- Thomas Kuhn, president of the Edison Electric Institute (EEI); and,
- William Novelli, professor at Georgetown University and former CEO of AARP.
