U.S. Senator Charles Schumer Endorses Lara Genovesi for Brooklyn Civil Court Judge
BROOKLYN, N.Y., Aug. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Today. U.S. Senator Charles Schumer endorsed Lara Genovesi for Civil Court Judge in Brooklyn's First Judicial District in the September 13th Democratic Primary. New York's senior Senator pointed to Lara Genovesi's legal experience, qualifications, and her civic involvement as making her the best choice to be a Civil Court Judge.
Senator Schumer stated, "I have known Lara for many years. She has the experience, intellect and judgment we need in Brooklyn Civil Court. Her understanding of the legal system and her experience in our courts is unmatched. She will be a knowledgeable and thoughtful judge from day one."

Lara Genovesi serves as Principal Law Clerk to the Supervising Judge for Matrimonial Matters in Brooklyn Supreme Court where she advises on legal matters and drafts court decisions. She was a Court Attorney to a Brooklyn Civil Court Judge and has been an attorney in private practice.
Lara Genovesi is a Brooklyn Bar Association Trustee and Vice Chair of its Grievance and Mentoring Committees. She is a former Board Member of the Brooklyn Women's Bar Association, and served as Chair of the New York State Bar Association's Trial Section Subcommittee on Family Law. For the last eight years she has been a Small Claims Arbitrator in Brooklyn Civil Court. As a member of Community Board 2, she has been actively engaged in neighborhood issues.
