U.S. silent auction leader adds technology guru to team

CHICAGO, Aug. 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Mobile bidding technology company AuctionsByCellular today announced the appointment of John Polacek to lead web developer, reporting to chief technology officer, Rich Aquino.

Polacek, previously senior developer at global advertising agency Draftfcb, has worked on mobile sites, apps, websites and more for brands such as Motorola, Boeing, Kmart, Volkswagen, Sharpie and Dow. He is best known for developing plugins used by thousands of developers and agencies all over the world to create award-winning work for their clients.

Polacek was sought to speak at Techweek Chicago where he gave the talk: "Open Sourcing Your Code for Fame and Fortune." His popular responsive web design tools have been featured in Wired Magazine's WebMonkey and online coding publications like HTML5 Weekly, Codrops and Treehouse. Polacek earned a BFA in illustration from Northern Illinois University.
