U.S. Soccer and Bonzi Partner to Bring New Technology to the U.S. Soccer Federation Referee Program
PORTLAND, Ore., May 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Bonzi, a leading sports solution and technology company, today announced their partnership with the U.S. Soccer Federation, the governing body for soccer in the United States.
As the Official Technology Solution of the U.S. Soccer Referee Program, Bonzi will bring new technology to U.S. Soccer making it easier for referees across the country to become certified and assigned. With a goal to expand the number of certified referees over the next three years, Bonzi and U.S. Soccer have come together to pave the way for connecting referee communities so they can easily access and share information.
Referees play a critical role in the delivery of soccer programing to millions of children and adults who participate each year. State Referee Associations across the country are responsible for educating and reporting certifications for 140,000+ referees annually to U.S. Soccer. The challenge for State Referee Associations is to accurately and easily report referee certifications to U.S. Soccer, which are then used by the competitions who depend upon this information to manage their referee assignments. Referees also depend on their information being reported accurately and quickly so they can officiate and contribute to the growth of soccer in their communities.
The new technology will automatically report referee certifications from Bonzi's GameOfficials.net referee management system to U.S. Soccer's national referee database. State Referee Associations will now be able to connect with U.S. Soccer's system to transmit certifications directly and accurately without complication.
"Our partnership with Bonzi reflects our mutual desire to create a connected system where information is seamlessly shared and available to our member organizations for the benefit of all who participate in the game of soccer. Bonzi's GameOfficials.net product already serves nearly half of the State Referee Associations in the U.S., underscoring the value a connected system can bring to everyone involved with the program."- Ryan Mooney, Director of Sport Development at U.S. Soccer.
"We are excited to work with U.S. Soccer and extend our vision of connecting organizations and their members using technology reducing the work involved for so many who are passionate about delivering quality programs in their communities. Our solution not only provides a streamlined and integrated process for our current GameOfficials.net users, but will offer tremendous benefit for all those responsible for educating and certifying referees in the U.S." -Amy Pate, CEO for Bonzi.
