Australian player, Samantha Stosur, defeated Serena Williams in the finals to win the 2011 U.S. Open Singles title.  American duo Liezel Huber and her partner Lisa Raymond won the women's doubles championship, while Melanie Oudin and her partner Jack Sock, also Americans, won the mixed doubles event.
