User Experience Agency EffectiveUI Promotes Ken Guiberson to Chief Technology Officer

DENVER, March 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- EffectiveUI, a leading user experience (UX) agency, created the new role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) that will be filled immediately by current executive Ken Guiberson.  As CTO, the former Kodak engineer will be responsible for the overall technology vision of EffectiveUI, including managing the Technology Services team, a group of technologists that, along with EffectiveUI's Customer Insight and Design teams, deliver award-winning creative and humanizing software to its Fortune 500 clients. Guiberson will also play an essential role in working with its clients' corporate technology executives on their digital experience strategies.

Traditionally, technology professionals have been largely responsible for delivering quality software on time and budget but often because of competing priorities or time constraints, the user experience took a secondary role, sometimes with significant business impact. However, they are finding that being involved upfront in the digital experience prevents the pitfalls and costs that can happen from placing a company's UX strategies at the bottom of the technology priorities list.

Guiberson joined EffectiveUI in February of 2006 and is currently the Rochester, New York office's General Manager. Prior, Guiberson was a software engineer at Kodak where he led the user interface development of the world's first Flash-based, WiFi-enabled digital camera. Before Kodak, Guiberson served four years in the United States Army as a Nuclear Medical Science Officer. Guiberson has a M.S. in Information Technology from Rochester Institute of Technology, a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University and a B.S. in Physics from Nebraska Wesleyan University. Guiberson and his family will relocate to Colorado this summer.
