"We have heard loud and clear the call for a national sanctioning body for the sport of obstacle course racing," said Sam Mansfield, co-founder and CEO of USOCR. "Through our work with Creaxion, we will create a vibrant community of athletes and market obstacle course racing to current OCR competitors and potential participants, ensuring the future and growth of the sport."
After detailed market analysis, Creaxion's first assignment was to design the overall USOCR look and feel which was unveiled today.
"The USOCR logo, color palette and associated running 'O-Man' icon instantly convey strength, oversight and leadership," said Mark Pettit, president and chief creative officer at Creaxion. "The new USOCR brand identity was designed to deliver on the promise of stability, safety and security in obstacle course racing."
A member-based organization, USOCR will officially launch in February with a roster of partner race organizations that will operate USOCR sanctioned races. These organizations will have the opportunity to take part in the USOCR Event Safety Program, which includes world-class consultation from ESIX (www.esixglobal.com), a global leader in risk management and insurance solutions for sports and entertainment events and companies. This program will help set a consistent standard for safety that protects event operators and race participants alike. Beyond safety, the results from qualifying races will be used to determine a ranking system allowing competitors to gauge themselves against competition nationwide.
"Obstacle course racing is a burgeoning industry that will prosper into a globally recognized sport under the leadership of USOCR and its partners," said Mark Ballas, co-founder of USOCR. "We are proud to be working hand-in-hand with Creaxion to develop a comprehensive branding and marketing strategy, which we are excited to see come to life."
Look for the full USOCR website to launch in February at www.usocr.com. The site will be a resource for racers and race organizers. It aims to become the place where pro-level and amateur athletes can share in their passion for obstacle course racing.
