USRowing, Community Rowing, Inc.'s Institute for Rowing Leadership Join Up
Boston-based Partnership to Improve Coaching Education in the United States
BRIGHTON, Mass., Feb. 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The national governing body for rowing in the United States, USRowing, and the largest rowing club in the world, Community Rowing (CRI), today announced an exciting partnership to promote the Institute for Rowing Leadership (IRL) Fellowship Program at CRI.
In its fourth year, the yearlong post-graduate level coaching education program develops leaders in the life-changing sport of rowing through Active Learning education. It is the first sport specific certification program to adopt the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE) National Standards for Sport Coaches in a full-time, yearlong program.

Fellows attend daily classes taught by top-level instructors from universities including Brown, Boston, Northeastern, and Harvard. In addition, fellows implement learning through a mentored program with world-class coaches on the Charles River.
