PITTSBURGH, Nov. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The United Steelworkers (USW) today said that International President Leo W. Gerard will join Jim Rooney and retired Pittsburgh players Franco Harris, Mel Blount, Edmund Nelson and Craig Bingham for a series of events in Southwestern Pennsylvania on Friday and Saturday to get out the vote (GOTV) in support of Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine. Pittsburgh music icon Donnie Iris will also be a part of the events.
The first "Steel Blitz" bus tour event begins at noon on Friday, Nov. 4, in Beaver, Pa. "Steel Blitz" will then join another major GOTV rally scheduled for 4 p.m. at USW International Headquarters in downtown Pittsburgh. The tour will continue on Saturday, Nov. 5, with rallies at 9 a.m. in West Mifflin and at 11:30 a.m. in Washington, Pa.
