Utah Business Women Revolutionize the Perception of Beauty School
AMERICAN FORK, Utah, March 30, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Mandalyn Freeland and Diane Bitaraf, an ambitious duo and owners of Mandalyn Academy, recently celebrated their 15th year of training, mentoring, and influencing thousands of cosmetology students from across the country while successfully establishing themselves as an authority in an industry notorious for regulatory skirting. Mandalyn Academy finishes first among its peers and illuminates the minds of passionate knowledge seeking students looking for a career in Cosmetology/Barber or Master/Medical Esthetics.

Mandalyn Academy was launched in the summer of 2001 by Mandalyn Freeland, whose name adorns the 9000 sqft building in American Fork Utah, in part to provide a legitimately higher education for young people looking for opportunity outside the normal university degree, but to challenge an industry lacking substance and student neglect stemming from her own experience at cosmetology school. "When I started hair school right out of High School the expectation set by the school was personal attention, smaller classes, and future job potential," Freeland said. "Unfortunately the reality was starkly different." So in her own school Mandalyn changed the structure to ensure individual attention to student's goals, ultimately producing more student enrollments to graduates than most other neighboring schools. The Academy as a whole shifted market trends with Mandalyn's implementation of Cosmetology Courses in addition to the Master Esthetics Program, concentrating on individual student achievement instead of cycling graduates through the doors. In 2006 the framework laid by Mandalyn created the atmosphere for expansion, with it the partnership of detailed oriented business professional Diane Bitaraf. A Master Esthetician, Diane shares with students her own story of overcoming adversity and the importance of having an education to fall back on. Her license as an esthetician being the only source of income after the sudden loss of her husband. Diane is driven to help student's progress through any circumstance and after joining forces with Mandalyn, Diane immersed herself into the daily operations of the Academy and with fierce oversight took Mandalyn Academy from a great company to an exceptional one.
Together Mandalyn and Diane have set a precedence in standards, an affirmation reflected by their state board passing rates and graduate successes. "To watch the positive transformation in each student from the first day of class until the day they graduate is remarkable," Bitaraf said. "We are honored to contribute to their success."
Both mothers, the two business women have strategically incorporated life lessons of balancing family, work, and education into the Academy's social curriculum, an intricate part of the Partners philosophy on building a well-rounded solid foundation for success. A foundation further comprised of principles and integrity.
The prosperity of Mandalyn Academy can be described best by their School Motto; "Where Beauty, Confidence & Professionals are Created". For Freeland and Bitaraf, the Motto holds true with ever student's ascension to excellence.
