Valentines Party Planned for the Blind and Disabled
Free Luncheon for Those Who Have No Others to Think About Them on Valentine's Offered 11am to 1pm Feb. 16 at VHAV
VAN NUYS, Calif., Feb. 10 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Valentines Party planned for the blind and the disabled on Tuesday, February 16, 2010. Event will be held at the Visually Handicapped Adults of the Valley (VHAV), 15520 Sherman Way, Van Nuys, CA 91406.

Valentine's Day lands on a Sunday this year, so many people who are desperately alone on the weekends will now be invited to RP Internationals 5th annual Valentine's Day party. Music will be provided by a local guitarist and choral groups; food will be provided fee of charge; and RP International will help in the festivities, too.
The disabled community will not be forgotten and small gifts are being solicited, along with donations for luncheon items such as pizza and sandwiches. Volunteers are needed to help make the day a happy one for the new comers to the VHAV center. "Approximately 35 to 125 students come to the school regularly, but this Valentine's Day is a special show of love for all", said Helen Harris, president and founder of RP International and the VHAV Center. "Yes, it's a lot of work", answered the senior supporter of the disabled, "particularly the blind, but what isn't?" We need everyone's help for this special event, and the goal is to collect as many items, even gift bag items, so that each attendee gets a special hug from the unsighted world of the VHAV.
Admission is free, but seating is limited, so reservations are requested no later than Saturday February 13th, 2010, so that seating and food can be provided for the 200 available seats. A film will be shown for the audience, James Cameron's Titanic, described by Cameron himself. "It is the flick of pride and joy," said Harris, beaming at the love of TheatreVision, the audio assisted process she created to describe movies for the blind and vision impaired, bringing the world to their eyes as well as the eyes of the sighted.
The Center for Visually Handicapped Adults is a non-profit charitable organization. The objective is to train and re-educate low to moderate income seniors in our community who suffered the impairment of their sight. That is why this event is so important in achieving our objective.
