Van Dyk Montclair Appoints Medical Director; Hires New Clinical Liaison
Marc Morresi, MD to Provide Comprehensive Medical Oversight to Van Dyk Montclair Post-Acute Care Services; Susan Scozzafava to Work with Hospitals to Evaluate Patients for Admissions
MONTCLAIR, N.J., Aug. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Van Dyk Health Care, Inc. announces the hire of Marc Morresi, MD as its new Medical Director. With a specialty in Internal Medicine, Dr. Morresi graduated from UMDNJ-NJ Medical School in 2009 and completed his residency at Hackensack University Medical Center in 2010. He also heads up a private practice, Morresi Medical Associates, LLC in Bloomfield, NJ.
As Montclair's Medical Director, Dr. Morresi will help to ensure the highest quality care for Van Dyk Health Montclair's patients and residents. In his role, he'll provide open, regular communication between patients, families, other physicians and Van Dyk's team of care experts. He'll also develop and implement comprehensive care plans to support patients' and residents' health care needs.
"We're very pleased to have Dr. Morresi as a crucial part of our Montclair team," said Robert Van Dyk, president and CEO of Van Dyk Health Care, Inc. "A well-run, physician-led post-acute program is critical to the success and growth of our facilities, and we're wasting no time in delivering on our mandate to not just meet our consumers' expectations, but to set them and then exceed them. Dr. Morresi's specialty in Internal Medicine, together with his strong communication skills, will provide us with the medical oversight and leadership that enables us to continually deliver quality care, improve clinical outcomes and reduce unnecessary hospital readmissions for our patients and residents."
Also joining the Van Dyk Montclair team as Clinical Liaison is Susan Scozzafava, who will work directly with hospital partners to evaluate patients for safe, efficient and appropriate post-acute and long-term care admissions. Scozzafava is ideally suited for this position based upon her clinical skills and adept communication skills and professional demeanor. She comes to Van Dyk health Care from White House Healthcare and Cedar Hill Healthcare Center in Cedar Grove, NJ, where she worked in similar roles as RN Case Manager. She earned her degree at Upsala College in East Orange, NJ and her nursing diploma at Clara Maass School of Nursing in Belleville, NJ.
Other signs of progressive change at Van Dyk Montclair are the recent deployment of the Van Dyk HeartWays program, northern New Jersey's first cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program, and hiring Nicole Cofini, RN, Cardiac Nurse Practitioner, to oversee the program. HeartWays is an important quality distinction for post-acute providers like Van Dyk.
"We've accomplished many things in a short amount of time," Van Dyk continued, "but the truly exciting thing for our patients and residents is that we're really just getting started. We continue to add new key hires, roll-out new care programs, and launch new technologies to support higher quality outcomes and more focus on our post-acute patient population."
