WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., April 16 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Lois Bronz Children's Center (LBCC) today announced the recipients of the 2010 Spirit of Giving Awards, which will be presented at its Fourth Annual Benefit Gala on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at New Rochelle's Glen Island Harbour Club. The event pays tribute to individuals who dedicate their lives and careers in service to families and children in Westchester County, and raises funds for the Lois Bronz Children's Center.
It promises to be an extraordinary evening as LBCC honors: The Honorable Andrew J. Spano, former Westchester County Executive; Brenda Resnick Spano, Childcare Advocate; The Honorable Janet DiFiore, Westchester County District Attorney, Daymon Yizar, Dean of Students, Woodlands Middle/High School and Onolder "OJ" Yizar, Community Advocate.
Lois Bronz Children's Center provides early childhood education programs for pre-kindergarten aged children and work/life balance solutions for families in and around the County. The Venetian Carnivale theme illustrates the creative play approach that the Center uses to foster a passion and love of learning in the children that participate in its programs. Local government officials, corporate partners, community leaders and other guests will darn their favorite masks in a show of support and appreciation for LBCC's ongoing commitment to provide working families with a viable and unique alternative to traditional daycare or babysitting facilities.
"We take pride at the Lois Bronz Children's Center in our ability to help our children reach their full potential. Our efforts also enable parents to thrive in the workplace because they have the confidence that their child(ren) are in a supportive and nurturing environment, " states Felice Harris, Executive Director and alumnae of LBCC. She continued, "Each one of our 2010 honorees has played a vital role in supporting the children and families of Westchester County. Their impressive professional accomplishments, passion and overall efforts have positively impacted not only LBCC, but our community as a whole."
Gala highlights will include a musical performance by singer/songwriter/producer Gary Brown, a Greenburgh native and former lead singer of the legendary R&B group Kool & the Gang, and, Paula Redd Zeman, Director of Technical Services, Westchester County Board of Elections, will host the event. Ongoing support from major corporations and philanthropic foundations has contributed immensely to the Center's success, and this year's gala sponsors include: Westchester Business Journal, media sponsor; UHY; Medical Link; Eileen Fisher; Cuidiu Consulting and SKCG.
