Verizon Wireless Readies Network For Texas State Fair Crowds
DALLAS, Oct. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Verizon Wireless network is ready for the Texas State Fair and its 15,000 daily visitors between September 28th and October 21st. Network technicians have prepared to ensure peak performance for Dallas residents and fair-goers during the annual event. Attendees with Verizon Wireless devices, including 4G LTE and 3G, can enjoy the festivities without worrying about the performance of their wireless service.
To prepare for the 126th iconic Texas Fair, Verizon Wireless network teams have enhanced coverage and increased capacity at Fair Park. "We understand that the ability to communicate at a large festival or gathering, such as the Texas State Fair, is crucially important to our customers," said Frank Antonacci, region president for Central Texas. "Customers want to share their experiences, while keeping security and reliability in mind. We strive to exceed the everyday needs of our customers by enhancing our network capabilities."
To further enhance wireless performance on call reliability and data speed, Verizon Wireless launched its 4G LTE network in Dallas in 2010. Additionally, fair-goers will have access to Verizon Wireless' 4G LTE network that is now available in 371 markets and covers more than 75 percent of the U.S. population, including major metropolitan areas, small cities and many suburbs.
The Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network will cover the 3G network footprint by the end of 2013. It enables a new class of broadband speed and video-rich data services, including gaming, media sharing, home monitoring and more, with lower latency and speeds up to 10 times faster than current 3G networks.
