Veteran Corps' CEO Joins NVSBC Board, VETS2015 Platinum Sponsor
We are proud to be the sole platinum sponsor of 5th Annual Veteran Entrepreneur Training Symposium (VETS2015).
STAFFORD, Va., April 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Veteran Corps of America's CEO, William (Bill) Wheeler, was honored to join the National Veteran Small Business Coalition (NVSBC) Board of Directors. Veteran Corps was founded with the purpose of creating job opportunities for U.S. military veterans, based on Bill's personal understanding of the struggle that many injured or healthy vets experience when attempting to re-enter the civilian workforce, or to navigate the marketplace as an entrepreneur. The NVSBC hosts the VETS2015 conference, and Veteran Corps is proud to be a Platinum sponsor again this year.

The goal of VETS2015 is to exchange knowledge and information about becoming a successful veteran small business owner, and how to navigate the federal acquisition process. The conference offers opportunities to connect with other veteran-owned businesses, government representatives, and potential customers. This three-day event will include educational breakout sessions, business matchmaking, an address by a keynote speaker, and an Exhibit Hall where businesses can showcase their products and service lines.
Veteran Corps has attended all five consecutive years of the VETS conferences. Previously held in Reno, NV, VETS2015 has moved to Norfolk, VA to reach a growing community of veteran small business owners, and a large demographic of military personnel. Our executive leadership, including Bill, will be present to network with the attendees and showcase our company's capabilities.
Veteran Corps is committed to standing by those who served by supporting our nation's veterans and their families. We support a number of charities, including our campaign to fund no less than $1M to veteran support organizations by 2017.
Our corporate dedication to veterans is deeply rooted in our CEO's first-hand experience as a disabled veteran. On his first Air Force assignment, Bill's aircraft experienced a catastrophic mechanical failure. He suffered severe injuries as a result of ejecting from the aircraft. After many months of recovery and half a dozen surgeries, Bill went on to continue his Air Force career. After suffering another accident that resulted in a traumatic brain injury, Bill medically retired in 1995.
Although it was considered unlikely that he would ever work again, he recovered and entered vocational rehabilitation. He later accepted a job with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). In 2005, he resigned and co‑founded Veteran Corps with his brother and contracting expert, John Wheeler, who shares his passion for veteran support.
Bill is a native of the Washington DC area. His grandfather, Earle G. Wheeler, served as the longest running Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (1964-1970). Bill attended Marietta College in Marietta, OH where he received a B.A. in Marketing and Management. He received an M.S. in Logistics and Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT). His full biography is available on the NVSBC website:

All NVSBC Board members are veteran small business owners, and are currently doing business with the federal government. Veteran Corps is an 8(a) service-disabled, veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB). Over the past decade, our organization has grown from a small IT products firm with two employees, to a multi-division firm specializing in all-hazards response, logistics and warehousing, IT products and services, and training and simulation. Veteran Corps has more than 50 employees — 65% of whom are veterans.
