(NASDAQ: VSAT), a global broadband services and technology company, proudly announced today it has been selected as a finalist in this year's Fierce Innovation Awards: Energy Edition, a utility-reviewed awards program from the publishers of FierceEnergy and Smart Grid News. ViaSat was recognized as a finalist in the Technologies/Cybersecurity category.
ViaSat was selected as a finalist for its innovative project known as Cyber intrusion Auto response and Policy Management System (CAPMS), which is part of a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) grant study. The project leverages ViaSat's trusted networking platform, and bundles encryption, cyber sensors and real-time visualization to provide utility operators with an actionable view of their operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT) network security. The focus of the project is to detect cyber-attacks across distributed networks and enable utilities to automatically respond to threats as predetermined by their cybersecurity policies.
