This November the Chevrolet Volt will hit both dealership showrooms and classrooms around the country. Once thought of as a science project, the electric car is being used to teach the next generation about the future of transportation, electricity and alternative fuels. The brains behind the Volt, General Motors worked with educators to create "Power of the Plug," a curriculum that meets national standards and works in real world concepts. The program will include interactive lessons about making and storing electricity, renewable and non-renewable energy sources and an introduction to chemistry concepts. Kids from K-12 will have the opportunity to see first hand how the Volt works and how advances in technology will impact their lives. Available video includes edited packages, general views and soundbites.
