[VIDEO] San Francisco Developers Invited to September 14 Power Management Roundtable
Free CSCI event focuses on the development of energy efficient software
SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Climate Savers Computing Initiative (CSCI), the international consortium focused on reducing the energy consumption and carbon footprint of computing and communications equipment through power management and energy efficient technologies, today invites developers in the San Francisco area to a September 14 software and power management roundtable. George Goodman, CSCI's Executive Director, overviews the event in a two minute video posted on CSCI's YouTube Channel at http://bit.ly/pD2I0w.
The roundtable will show Linux, Mac OS X and Windows developers how to build and optimize applications to work seamlessly with power management on PCs and networked computers. Power management experts from CSCI will share best practices, point out "worst" practices, and review tools and information to make the development of energy efficient software easier and faster.
"If you're a developer in the San Francisco or Silicon Valley areas, a member of a User Group such as the San Francisco Agile User Group, the Bay Area Linux Users Group or Pacific IT Professionals, or if you're in San Francisco for the Intel Developer Forum, you are invited to attend the CSCI software and power management roundtable," said Goodman.
The event runs from 5:00pm – 7:30pm US PT in the Twin Peaks Room at the Intercontinental Hotel, across the street from Moscone West where IDF2011 is being held. Refreshments will be served. Contact Goodman at George AT climatesaverscomputing DOT org to receive your invitation to attend.
