Vigilan Announces iPhone/iPad Mobile Application for Nurse Charting

PORTLAND, Ore., Dec. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Today Vigilan, provider of software for better senior living, announced the Beta release of a new mobile application that enables the collection of Assisted Living resident vital signs to an iPhone or iPad. As an integrated application with the Vigilan Care Suite, the mobile app is a free, "at the moment of care" tool that nursing staff can use to save time by eliminating the need for paper charting and data entry.

The features of the new mobile app include:

• Mobile collection of vital signs to your iPhone or iPad
  Staff can enter the resident data at the point of care.
• HIPAA Compliant 
  The software encrypts the data when it is sent from the phone to the database.  No data is stored on the phone.
• Works in a standalone mode or connected to Vigilan Administrator
  Regardless of the size of the community, from 5 beds to 100 beds, this mobile app enables the collection of vital signs, shift change notes and more.
• Downloads resident basic data from the Vigilan Administrator database. 
  The charting app pulls the latest data about residents into the mobile device, eliminating the need to enter names on move in or move out.
• Data Sharing
  Permission controls allow the sharing of resident data for all staff to see and update the same information about a community's residents.
• Weight Trending
  Reporting provides an immediate view of resident's weight over time
• Alerts
  Any user can set alerts for any situation that needs special attention for other caregivers, the nurse or the administrator

Pricing and Availability

The mobile app from Vigilan is free from the Apple App Store and will be available for both iPad and iPhones by March of 2012.  An Android version will be available in Q2 of 2012.
