Vintage Wine Estates intends Cameron Hughes to retain its autonomy with the company remaining based in San Francisco.
"The Cameron Hughes and Vintage Wine Estates business models are very complementary in their robust focus on technology and digital innovation in the direct to the consumer wine space. Our goal will be to create a best-in-class quality, selection, value and personal service direct-to-consumer company," explained Roney.
"This is a situation where one plus one will equal three in the digital wine space. We are looking forward to having the shared vision and the resources to accomplish what we originally set out to do," remarked Kogan.
Cameron Hughes will continue to source small-lot, limited production wines for the Cameron Hughes brand as he has in the past.
"I am looking forward to leveraging the Vintage Wine Estates relationships with top-tier vineyards, growers and producers to complement our existing relationships to elevate the portfolio," commented Hughes.
The purchase also includes Sales Pros, the in-store wine, beer and spirits event and insights company. Sales Pros will continue under present management based in Austin, Texas.
