VL Action Network Releases Trump Video Parody
VL Action Network and Room 28 present "I won't vote for you!"
WASHINGTON, Sept. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- VL Action Network joined forces with Room 28 to create a public service announcement against Donald Trump. The music video parody featured Jerry Diaz as Elmo DiFoca and Jacob Berger as Donald Trump, and is a parody of the popular hit by Big Sean titled "I don't [mess] with you." The video is a response to Trump's negative comments about Latinos, his proposed immigration plan, and most recently, his ejecting of eight time Emmy-award winning American journalist Jorge Ramos at a press conference.
VL Action Network is dedicated to dispelling false information aimed at harming the Latino community. Unfortunately, Trump has become a repeat offender. He has continuously slandered the Latino community, and in that spirit, VL Action Network and Room 28 have decided to speak up with the message that we will not vote for presidential candidates that use our community as scapegoats for personal gain. That's why, Donald Trump, we won't vote for you. The "I won't vote for you!" video can be viewed here.
VL Action Network is also behind the "Thank you, Donald Trump!" op-ed published in July in the Huffington Post penned by actress and activist, America Ferrera. Trump's offensive comments about Mexicans struck a chord with the entire Latino community, and our allies as well. Once released, Ferrera's letter went viral, receiving over 4.5 million views in just 3 days. This comes to show how much we support each other as a community, and we will head to the polls when it counts. The open letter from America Ferrera can be viewed here.
