VMD Systems Integrators Among Alliant 2 Small Business Awardees

RESTON, Va., March 7, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- VMD Systems Integrators, Inc., a federal government contractor with significant IT and aviation contracts, today announced that it is among the Alliant 2 Small Business awardees, paving the way for the company to continue the steady growth trajectory it has experienced over the last 12 months.

The Alliant 2 Small Business Government-Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) is a pre-competed, multiple-award, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract that agencies can use to buy total IT solutions.

Similar to Alliant Small Business, this next-generation GWAC brings together a highly-qualified pool of industry partners with a robust scope aligned with the Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA) and Department of Defense Enterprise Architecture (DoDEA). It also provides agencies with access to a full range of comprehensive IT services and IT services-based solutions plus flexibility as emerging technologies evolve. It allows for ancillary support (non-IT) when it is integral to, and necessary for, the IT services-based outcome. It includes the full spectrum of contract types, including cost reimbursement; worldwide coverage; and complimentary scope-compatibility reviews.

The Government Services Agency (GSA), which administers Alliant 2, has said that its goal is to build on the success of the Alliant Small Business program, and create a contract vehicle that provides a total solution to agencies' requirements while maximizing opportunities for small businesses.

GSA, made the announcement on February 14, 2018, at which point VMD became one of 81 awardees on the vehicle. In September of 2017, the Office of Management & Budget recognized Alliant 2 Small Business GWAC as a best-in-class solution for information technology services.
