Volkswagen Again Claims Top Spot in ADBOWL® XII

 
 

Car company wins for the second year in a row, with a little help from Darth Vader (again)

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Feb. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Volkswagen's "Dog Strikes Back" was rated the favorite commercial during Super Bowl XLVI according to ADBOWL® (www.adbowl.com), the original advertising ranking website for consumers developed by integrated marketing firm McKee Wallwork Cleveland in partnership with Knuckleheads. 

As of 12:00 am EST*, the top 5 ads as ranked by ADBOWL® voters on a five point scale were:

"There was a lot of back and forth for the top spot as the viewer ratings came in through the evening," said Steve McKee, president of McKee Wallwork Cleveland. "What didn't seem to be in doubt was that a canine commercial would be ADBOWL's top dog in 2012." All three of the highest-scoring spots (and four of the top five) this year featured furry stars.

During and after the game, viewers went to the ADBOWL® website or app and rated the commercials on a scale between one and five, with one being a "fumble" and five being a "touchdown." The scores were averaged in real time and a winner declared at midnight Eastern.
